Klubb Slick, Emmon, Ladyfuzz, etc.
2 August 2006 :: posted by Rchrd Oh?!I am DJing at Klubb Slick on the 19th of August, in Stockholm. If you are going to be there come check out half of BigStereo. I will also be going to London on this trip, I couldn’t be any happier.
Emmon will be playing live at Club Slick on the fifth, she is fucking brilliant and you should check her out. I’m bummed I’m too late to see her perform.

Ladyfuzz is playing the week after I DJ at Slick. Ladyfuzz should be all the rage soon. With their floor shakin beats and indie rock grooves they are sure to be the next indie-dance act to sweep the nation. They have been compared to Elastica but I really only see it in this song. They totally sound like they should have been on Kill Rock Stars ten years ago, but the music does not sound out dated one bit.

That same weekend of my trip check out Creamfields or the TDK Cross Central Festival, check out the fucking line up to those two! Spektrum, Ladytron, Hot Chip, Goldfrapp, New Young Pony Club, Simian Mobile Disco, Justice, Spank Rock, Shild Child… come on!! It couldn’t get any better.
Play “Bouncy Ball” slammed up against Elastica’s “Vaseline” or “Car Song” — it might be more clear that way. (; It’s mostly just the upbeat tracks, although there’s a little “2:1″ in “Staple Gun” too.
Plus — I thought the fact that the bouncy ball was so ‘elastic’ was a nod to the band’s Elastica influence. Perhaps I’m reading too much into it.
