Sally Shapiro

Sally Shapiro is a slice of irresistible italo-disco-synthpop. Produced by Johan Agebjörn, there’s a bit of naivety in the vocals that could be compared to some late 80s Freestyle hits. “I’ll Be By Your Side” is just so… sweet. It’ll have you hugging yourself. Even though they’re doing different things, Sally Shapiro reminds me slightly of Annie. Like they both successfully bottled the same mix of carefreeness and coolness.

Very pretty song, production. Like an extrapolation on Valerie Dore, perhaps even nicer. Digging this.

This is awesome. It’s like she is from an early 1980’s movie where the girl is separated from her boyish love interest, and he has to overcome some challenge before they can be reunited in happiness. Either that or music to listen at home to on the couch while it rains outside.

It reminds me Valerie Dore & Katie Fray. The nicest songs when I was a teenager.

Yeah, it’s really awesome! Reminds me about Valerie Dore and CC Catch. Pretty cool that she is from Sweden – just like me.
