Young Love

On Young Love’s Myspace, he lists his influences as: “Zoot Woman, Pheonix, Bloc Party, Bowie, Michael Jordan, that one jam by Nu Shooz, m83, Kraftwerk, Thriller, Air.” That should get your biz excited, no?
This is so hot right now. Weird Science’s mix of “Discotech” has achieved a perfect hybrid NY/LA sound… seriously if I had no previous knowledge, I wouldn’t be able to place the coast. It’s so LA but so NY at the same time. Impossible.
There’s some serious synth action going on with this mix. Actually, some very surprising synth action… They’re totally not relying on the same old electro-rock tricks that we’ve all grown used to by now. And still, Steve Aoki and Blake Miller of Weird Science keep the heart of the original version. I’m tell you: this is the perfect song to listen to as you get ready to go out…
