Peaches
music 7 June 2006 :: posted by TravisI always hate it when an album leaks. I’ll admit that I like having a sneak peak, but it takes a bit of the joy out of it. I love to wait, and the anticipation, and the marketing blitz, and then finally… you go to the record store on that Tuesday and whatever album you’ve been longing for is there waiting for you and you grab it. Downloading a leak is kind of like opening your Christmas presents early, and then, when it’s actually Christmas, you have to sit around and watch all your friends open theirs. And you’re left with nothing. Or… a better analogy: premature ejaculation.
Peaches leaked. I’m sure all you nerds know where to look… if ya dare. Impeach My Bush is Peaches’ highly anticipated third album, and even though it is studio heavy, it does not disappoint. Her stripped down electro beats from Teaches and Fatherfucker are still there, but they’re buried under some slick and radio friendly production. Even so, Impeach My Bush still feels edgy and interesting… proof that studio can still rock. Really, what other direction could Peaches go? Plus, Impeach My Bush seems like great fodder for some amazing remixes and an excellent live show.

Peaches – “Do Ya”
Impeach My Bush in stores July 10th or 11th depending on which part of the world you live. Peaches’ Bush is full of guest stars: Feist, Joan Jett, Beth Ditto, Queens of the Stone Age. The whole gang.
Purchase: Amazon
Interesting tidbit: Peaches’ Impeach My Bush tour will be the first time she is backed by a live band. Peaches band is, of course, an all star troupe including JD Samson of Le Tigre, Samantha Maloney of Hole and Radio Sloan of The Need.
