Young And Restless
5 June 2006 :: posted by TravisYoung And Restless is more proof that Australia is so hot right now… so ripe. Y&R delivers some perfect post-hardcore, dance punk… sounding something like when the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were still good. You know, when Karen O wasn’t afraid to rock. Of course, with five players instead of three, Y&R has a much fuller sound than the YYYs.
I guarantee you’ll want them in your next party mix… that is if you like to play it hard. Young And Restless has given me new faith that rock and roll isn’t dead.
Betting the farm: Young And Restless is going to be huge. Or they should be huge. There’s no way it can be avoided… Their sound is nailed. And with Chris Colonna of Bumblebeez81 producing and James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco mixing, you won’t be able to resist.
Quote on “Satan” from their Myspace: “this song blows our minds…it’s dancey, then it’s metal, then it’s brutal hardcore breakdown, then it’s dancey…but it works!”

Young And Restless - “Police! Police!” (mp3)
More on their Myspace.
Edit: Check out Dan’s photos from a recent show.

The band is really good, it will be on heavy rotation on the ipod. Sound a little like Schoolyard Heroes out of Seattle but not as dark. This is there site if anybody wants to check them out http://www.schoolyardheroes.com/

heh they’re from my city! I see the lead singer at the boho clothes shop all the time! This is quite surreal.

Sigh, this is just another one of those beautiful indoseian female fronted Austrailian bands making kick-ass NYC post-hardcore music. How typical. *Psych*, I’ve never heard anything like this. I love it! I agree with the previous poster, HEAVY ipod rotation, and definetly a party favorite. Hurry up and travel to LA, I’m bored over here!
