TV-OD

Naysayers would like you to believe electro-rock died when The Bravery took stage. But my friends, it is alive and well. If any band is pushing the genre forward, it is TV-OD, a band out of Nottingham. Of course being named after The Normal song helps…

Get out the eyeliner cuz this is some synth’d up, fuzzed out guitar rock that’ll have you owned from the start. Vocalist Steve Blackman often sounds like he’s mocking Daniel Miller, but his vocals never reach the point of being that dissociated. He has a tad more flow. Backing vox by Claire Dyer help keep it fresh and dynamic… human even.

  1. Thanks for posting this up, Travis. I hope more people get hipped to TVOD. I loved them first time I stumbled upon them online (and I can’t even remember how now)…I also recommend “Recognise Us” if anyone sees this…enjoy!

  2. This band is terrific. “Nothing Going On” is my second favorite song of 1006 — right after the astonishing “Sweet Talk” by Spank Rock.

  3. Or should I say 2006. They didn’t make records like this in 1006. They pillaged and feasted.

  4. Didn’t they stole this backgroud?
