I’m a total sucker for cover art. Bad Animal’s The Hunted is presented in a digi-pack with a drawing of a fawn on the cover. Is the deer the bad animal or is the hunted? I don’t know. Either way, there is a certain amount of irony that is echoed through out the entire album.
The Hunted is perfectly crafted DIY pop… sounding like a cross between Purple Rain and 8-bit video games. After a few listens, I’m not sure if Shawn Gallagher of Bad Animal is in fact totally serious, creating irony for irony’s sake or just having fun. Maybe all of the above? Whatever the case, the first half of the disc has me sold as a believer. The second half of the The Hunted wears on my nerves a bit. Overall though, the disc is an unexpected excellent debut from an unknown artist.

shawn gallagher is the worst singer/ manager I’ve ever had! He stole the bad Animal melodies from a sick man who plays keyboard in the streets just to make kids happy. He has mismanaged careers for his whole career. He gave me my start I’ll give him that but he sold me down the river with his plastic mastery nonsense. 2007 he plans on going to Poland. I Agree with King Macho Man! Shawn is a leach and steals, lies, cheats to get whatever he wants. He does not care what he does to get it. He is using the wife’s money for a free ride. He is a kept man.
