Otur

Otur, aka Emma Bates, started out in The Lightbulb Project alongside Christina Roos and Hanna Göransson, who both went on to Swedish girl group Cat5. With Bates work as Otur, she creates diy electro-pop with strong dance roots. Initially, it almost seems over the top, really. You might want to write this off as typical Euro-dance-crap, but after a few listens you’ll find that it is smarter than that. Otur’s sensitivity and vocals are what keep this project grounded. There is also a certain amount of naiveness to her work that plays out well…
