The Sleepy Jackson

The Sleepy Jackson’s “God Lead Your Soul” is starting to make the blog circuit. If the track isn’t compelling enough, then the imagery of the video should be. Even though on totally different ends of the spectrum, the video kind of reminds me of something we would see from Fischerspooner: rich colors, high contrast, theatrical. This is one of those videos that seems as important as the song being played.
“God Lead Your Soul” follows in the spirit of previous work by the Sleepy Jackson…. lush, dreamy pop that is built on solid songwriting. Perfect production is like the icing on the cake. Luke Steele’s vocals sound like they could be from a different era… you will feel like you’ve known “God Lead You Soul” your whole life. There is something truly magical about this tune.

The Sleepy Jackson – “God Lead Your Soul”
You guys are going to think that I am Presets obsessed (maybe I am a little though), but it is worth noting that the orchestral arrangements on “God Lead Your Soul” are done by Julian Hamilton (of The Presets).
“God lead Your Soul” is off of the Sleepy Jackson’s new album “Personality” which will hit stores July ’06…
