D.S.M. has a new cd out titled ‘Nature’s Ghosts’. Quite different to his last work, ‘Nature’s Ghosts’ takes you back even further in time. To a time of simplicity and finger shaking melodies.
I think it might just be more appropriate for what Dave is doing now. His music is simply honest and tells you just exactly what is going on. The piano and strings in ‘Nature’s Ghost’ is so overly theatrical that it embodies you and keeps your attention as to not miss a single act. The whole atmosphere of this album is very natural and outdoorsy, and all I really felt it needed was maybe a couple of chirping birds. His music reminds me of postcards you would get from someone on a semi-permanent vacation, letting you know exactly all the beautiful things they are seeing and doing.
I got home from work one day and opened the mailbox, to my surprise there was a nice little package with a wonderful note and the cd. The cd is one of twenty, making it feel very personal and even secretive. Let him know exactly how you feel about his songs, and help get this guy signed!
You can also check out his myspace and listen to more tunes.
