Ladytron + Iha

Most of you are probably chomping at the bit for that Ladytron remix of Goldfrapp so it may have been easily missed that Ladytron released a collection of remixes and b-sides this past week in the States. If anything, Extended Play is a nice collection that works quite well as a short album… usually most remix/b-side collections are reserved for fans, but I would argue that this collection is worthy of the casual listener too. It works on its own. Plus, for what it is worth, it comes with a DVD.
The James Iha remix of “Weekend” strips away some of Ladytron’s typical electro darkness and polishes the song up into a nice indie pop mix. It may not be what you would expect from the group… perhaps more Iha than not. Of course though, I’m a sucker for Iha. I just have a stream up… hate me.
