Codec Flexor Killermachine

Codec & Flexor’s “Time Has Changed” managed to turn some heads in 2002, but it never really translated well to album. They were kind of lost in the great electroclash shuffle of 2003 — like five minutes too late to cash in on the hype. Now that the dust has settled, the duo’s second effort, Killermachine, is set for release on Kitty-Yo records.

Codec & Flexor are back with their dirty electro bass lines and continue to play special homage to Depeche Mode and Human League.

Codec & Flexor - “Do What You Want”

Killermachine is tagged with an April 4th release date.

  1. haven’t heard of em
    or maybe i have
    Either way this is nice.
I’m seeing a trend in this style and i like it.

  2. Guess what… I love this record!

  3. Listening to it right now. Good enough! I’m sure it’ll grow on me. Sounds very much like Fischerspooner’s “Odyssey”. If you’re into this sound - go for it!

  4. Codec & Flexor started out with their first common maxi “Crazy Girls” in 2001. They delivered the mega hit “Time has changed” that crossed borders in every respect. They became the avantgarde of electro-pop. Their debut album “Tubed” was produced together with Christian Morgenstern on his label Forte Rec. in 2002. In the following year they were signed by the american label Emperor Norton Rec. and went on a big tour throughout the USA.Since then Sven Zalac and Matthias Freund have played and sung all over the world, have published various remixes and have finally given their creativity lots of space full of old and new pictures for familiar music. Now their second album with the unambiguous title “Killermachine” is going to come out in March 2006 on Kitty-Yo. This title may sound brutal, but it is everything but raw if it comes to the content. It promises what is implied metaphorically by the title: Hits that dance on the thin line between mainstream and club orientated electro-pop without ever loosing their balance. It is by no means offbeat to say that new wave left some traces. This album is not afraid of references to Depeche Mode, Human League or even Gary Numan within the context of todays electronic pop music.”Do what you want” climbs out of the depth with an electro-bassline that makes you sweat and develops to the ultimate club hit. It is going to be pre-released in March 2006 with some top-class remixes as the first 12″ on the clubable Kitty-Cuts 12″-series. In February “I’ll be gone” will be released on the Kitty-Yo Compilation “Cuts & Pieces” and it will certainly get its attention outside of the clubs. The same can be said of the electro-pop number as such “Surface of sorrow”. It is dedicated to the late Christian Morgenstern and draws the cold from the sorrow with warm vocals and electro-synthie surfaces and immortalizes his memory. With “Killermachine” Codec & Flexor deliver several songs of the kind that guarantee a live experience that from spring 2006 on will set fire to the clubs and festivals. Electro-pop big style… a tour is going to follow and we are looking forward to what the summer may bring..
