Spank Rock

This group from Philadelphia are sure to be on top ten lists for this year. Their album titled ‘Yoyoyoyoyo’ is set to be released this spring on Big Dada Records. The album as a whole is incredible, their style is so unique and breaks all the rules as far as a hiphop and rap go. Spank Rock has plenty for everyone to enjoy. They blend styles as if you were listening to a really good mash up.

There were so many songs to pick from to post today but I’m posting one of the best tracks on the record, one that really got stuck to my brain. Never have I heard so many different styles of music in one song. It’s only a four minute song, but it feels like an eternity. I am saying this is in the best way possible. The song feels like really amazing sex with plenty of foreplay and an essential climax. This track really fucks you hard. One minute its sounds like 80′s Hip-Hop, next its Soul, then Funk, then Doo-Wop, and they even throw in some synthy sounds . It’s like your ears never have time to adjust.
I hope to hear more people talking about them soon.
