The National Trust
16 January 2006 :: posted by TravisChicago duo of Neil Rosario and Mark Henning, better known as The National Trust, are set to release their sophmore album via Thrill Jockey Records on January 24th. Kings & Queens is a healthy, sassy mix of R&B, soul, funk and disco. It’s much in the same fashion as Hey Willpower, but triumphs in a slightly different way by not relying on pop or (not-so) fancy dance moves. The only real problem with the disc is that the vocals get to be a bit tiring after listening to the entire album. Not too worry too much because guest vocals on songs “Jacuzzis” and “Stages” manage to break up the monotony and are a welcoming change.
Listen: The National Trust - “It’s Just Cruel” (mp3)
