yeah the justice mix pretty much owns.. doesn't it? and now that a couple days have passed i agree. the excitement of discovering the chromeo mix clouded by judgement a little – ha.

the review is stupid. the album itself clearly states that it is a collection of remixes and b-sides… not a remix album. but that's what you get with you have indie rock kids reviewing anything that isn't indie rock. whatever.

Um, yeah … that review was wack to me, too. Who looks at a remix album as a cohesive whole? That's kinda … stupid? For what it is … a series of remixes by the artists du jour, it's actually pretty good. BUT. I am gonna argue that the Justice remix fucking dominates, because their sound is so close to DFA1979 anyway and it just meshes so well! It's a perfect man/machine combo. Like the way the drum programming is done … it emulates some of the cheesy aspects of live drumming. Maybe I am giving Justice too much credit, but that remix is amazing. I'm not even a huge DFA1979 fan, but this remix made me think twice.

I read the pitchfork review too and it really pissed me off. I bought the cd and I love it but maybe thats because I'm a dj. I don't know.
