Seelenluft

18 November 2005 :: posted by Travis

Often, I try to bring our readers stuff they haven’t heard before. But that is not always easy… since most people who read music blogs are early adopters anyway. It is hard to always bring fresh tracks. That said, there are a billion ‘older’ songs that I am always wanting to blog about, but –

So in case, for some reason, you missed it the first time around –

Seelenluft’s “Manila” is one of those tracks that, if bigstereo was around in 2002/3, I would have definitely written about. Of course it’s 2005, but this song seems as relevant now as it did three years ago. In some ways, it seems even more relevant now than it did three years ago. “Manila” is also a song that I just never get sick of hearing. I can’t say that about all songs – music doesn’t always have longevity.

I don’t know. There’s not much I can say that you don’t already know. I am sure you’ve all heard this song like a billion times by now. But it’s still that good.

Listen: Seelenluft – “Manila” (Ewan Pearson Radio Edit) (mp3)

    I could write the same thing about the remix by Headman, so classic.

  2. hi. i’m a franco-american expat clocking in from Paris. in fact it seems my stay here is coming to a close (scholastically- l’education, le pretexte par excelllence- i’m just not up to par) but in the meantime i listen to radio nova at times, you’re familiar maybe, and on good days they’ll play this gorgeous tune. I feel peaceful, and tickled. Never has style been so simple. a transparent purity- it kills me. everytime. Would love to hear what anybody thinks.
