GD Luxxe

I need to apologize… I somehow forgot to write about the new GD Luxxe album. And it was totally on my ‘to do’ list. No excuses –

GD Luxxe aka Gerhard Potuznik has a new album out called Make which came out last month on Tigerbeat6. Make continues in the same fashion as Potuznik’s Between Zero and Eternity – further blending the line between guitar rock and electro. According to the back of the disc, Make was written, performed and recorded by Potuznik between January and March 2005 in Vienna. I love to think that less than a year ago this album didn’t exist… was probably just a few random thoughts in some guy’s head half the world away. I guess that could be said about anything. But. That is what I love about music. It doesn’t exist until someone creates it. Nerd!

Inspired by a wide range of musical periods, from early ’80s Wire and Gang Of Four, to ’90s Detroit electro, Make mixes post-punk memories with visionary electronica. Nearly all the tracks on Make were originally composed and recorded with guitar and vocals, then reworked and reshaped until a new form of timeless electronic guitar music was born.
