The Presets

Ok kids. Let’s talk about the twisted electropunk music of The Presets. The Presets are Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes, and they recently released their debut album ‘Beams’ on Australian label Modular People. The Presets started as a remix project in 2003 and have released 2 eps since that time. Careless listeners could easily lump them into the same electrorock category as The Faint – or even other acts like The Killers or The Bravery… but… The Presets make what those bands are doing seem like child play – radio friendly child play. The Presets create a sound that is so much more dirty and raw than their peers. A sound that seems so much more real and genuine.
