Tiga + Jake

Tuesday, September 20th, 2005

Rumor has it that Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears has a vocal spot on Tiga’s hot new track called “You Gonna Want Me.” Jake Shears and Tiga previously worked together on Tiga’s classic cover “Hot In Herre”.. and of course Tiga has remixed Scissor Sisters.

Juliette and The Licks + MSTRKRFT

Monday, September 19th, 2005

Juliette and The Licks doesn’t do much for me as a band. Not that they’re bad… just not my thing. But now that MSTRKRFT have added their special touch to this song… watch out. They turn “Got Love To Kill” into a electropunk anthem that should have dance floors packed from Berlin to Williamsburg to [...]

Genders

Friday, September 16th, 2005

I first heard Genders when they opened for Adult. way back in April at the Middle East in Boston. At the time, I wasn’t sure if they were a bad joke or if they were just way beyond my intellect. I’m still really not sure.
But I do know that five months later I am still [...]

O.M.D.

Friday, September 16th, 2005

Good Ol’ O.M.D. never fails to bring a smile to my face and a step to my knicks. Please tell me you have the same obsession. I definately think of ditching school and going on an all night vacation in Tijuana at 16 years old. Does every song make me think of that? Pretty much. [...]

Arctic Monkeys

Thursday, September 15th, 2005

I got a tattoo today(damn this shit is addictive!) and I was listening to my I-pod on the way there. I had it on shuffle and Arctic Monkeys came on, i forgot about them for a little bit. They are so fucking good though. Love vintage sounds. They are from Sheffield and they like ‘birds’(which [...]

Like a week or two ago the hot buzz was Diplo’s Fabriclive mix setlist. It’s great… blah, blah, blah… all my favorite songs from the last 10 years… blah, blah, blah. His setlist should appeal to anyone with a pulse… and if you’re not hot for at least half the songs on that disc then [...]

Sunday, September 11th, 2005

You may remember Number’s earlier jaunts on Tigerbeat6 records, but they’re about to release their new album, ‘We’re Animals’, on Kill Rock Stars. And it all makes sense.
“Beast Life” is less blips and beeps, less chaotic, less start and stop. Everything that intially drew me to Numbers and quickly made them one of my favorite [...]

katrina mix tape

Friday, September 9th, 2005

Katrina songs, most in response to the lack of effective leadership in this country, are starting to flood the internet. I guess one good thing about having a fuck up for President is it fuels art and music…

Mos Def - “Katrina Clap” (mp3)
Mocean Worker - “No, LA [...]
