Tiga

TigaI do miss the days when hunting down the new Tiga record was a real challenge. But. I guess I will have to eventually come to terms with the fact that Tiga was never meant to be an insider tip. A few years ago, Tiga, a total master of his craft, easily bridged that gap between underground electro and mainstream club music. Oh shit.. don’t let me get all nostalgic for 2000.

Tiga’s newest effort, “You Gonna Want Me,” sounds like a cross between LCD Soundsytem and the Scissor Sisters. I mean… Tiga did just finish remixing LCD and after all that is Jason Sellards Jake Shears on the track. But the real gem is the b-side “Do It/Don’t Stop.” This is classic Tiga. I’m not sure if it’s coming or going. Even though Tiga has been releasing tracks for years now, he is finally laying the groundwork for his forthcoming debut album.

  1. It’s really great to see that Tiga is making himself flexible and isn’t becoming extinct like electroclash but i have to say i appreciate “do it don’t stop”s classic disco drama hommage. brilliance.
