The Sunshine Underground

You need to be dancing to this record.
I’m going to be straight up. I have been so fucking uninspired. Bored actually. There have been some great albums this year. Some really good albums. But still I’m so bored. Maybe I’m jaded? I don’t know. But my turntables have gathered like an inch of dust on them. That is until I got my hands on The Sunshine Underground’s “Put You In Your Place” twelve inch. This is the record I’ve been waiting for all year.
Not to mention they have the best bio I’ve read ever - dinosaurs! They mention dinosaurs. All bands should talk about dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are awesome. Dinosaurs could eat you in one bite. I swear to god.
They’re out on City Rockers. City Rockers is one of those labels that you know you can trust. If you see a record that is put out on City Rockers and you’ve never heard of the band then do yourself a favor and just buy the record. It’s not a question. City Rockers has housed The Blood Arm, The Rakes, Tiga, Felix da Housecat, FC Kahuna, etc, etc.
“Put You In Your Place” has more funk than James Murphy. Has better guitars than Bloc Party. Has more attitude than Death From Above 1979. Has more more more more than you’ll ever get out of that Annie record. You get the idea?
