Rewind: Pajama Party

Ok. Anyone who knows me for more than five seconds knows that I love freestyle more than any other genre. Freestyle is like hip-hop’s ugly sister who always has a smile on her face. And anyone who knows that I loooove freestyle knows that Pajama Party is my favorite freestyle group ever. My friend Lisa turned me onto them for reasons we won’t go into here. I remember a summer driving around in my first car with a Pajama Party cassette tape on repeat.

When I was younger than that, this was the music they played at the roller skating rink… I remember skating for hours to this shit. It was like an after school special. My fucking god. And now I put on Pajama Party and it’s just like bam: sweaty palms and first kisses all over again. Lil’ Bow Wow knows what I’m talking about.

Unfortunately, the Party is way over. All their cds are long out of print. Your best bet is looking on Gemm. Or you can come over to my apartment and we can have a Pajama Party listening party… because I’m sure I have the largest Pajama Party collection in North America. I’m a nerd.
