Ok I know I know he looks like fucking Ali G. or some shit. The truth of the matter is ignore the fucking face and listen to the fucking music. This is Armand Van Helden. He lives in New York City and has worked with the likes of Fat Boy Slim(I know Blah!). Most of his hits have been remixes with a huge hit in the UK with Tori Amos’ “Professional Widow”(I know blah again). I know it sounds so fucking retarded “Why the fuck should I listen to him?” you might ask, well the truth of the matter is that his new Album Nympho is a fucking blast! If you like bands like Spektrum, Playgroup, or LCD Soundsystem you will love his new album. He captures the dark dance punk movement really well. The funny thing is when i downloaded the torrent it claimed he was House! Don’t believe it, its not house, but it will definately get yr ass moving and yr hips grinding. I remember watching the video to ‘Hear My Name’ on community access here in San Francisco last year and completely loving the sound. Well I had no idea that that song would be one of the weakest songs on the album, yes its that good.Listen to the song ‘Into Your Eyes’ it captures the essence of early butt rock. Nympho combines every style of music that makes you dance in yr bedroom from goth, punk, disco, and like I said even butt rock(cowbell anyone?).WTF?!! I am fucking sold! On this album he collaborates with Spalding Rockwell, Creame Blush, Tim Holtom, and Virgin Killer. The song with Creame Blush is fucking brilliant take a listen see:
