I’m dangerously close to Rchrd’s territory. But oh well.. this is too good not to write about right away.

Hey Willpower is the side project of Imperial Teen’s Will Schwartz. They’re out of San Francisco and are starting to get a lot of good press.

You politely ask: “What do they sound like?” Well they’re a little bit Peaches mixed with a little bit En Vogue with all the dance moves of Justin Timberlake. It’s like you take all your indie cred, and after listening to too much Top 40 R&B decide to start a dance troupe. And it works.

I don’t know what is going on here. Or why it works. Or if this has really been done quite like this before. But I do know it’s good. And interesting. And makes me want to get up and dance… which is all that really matters.

Look for a record dropping sometime late summer. Until then you’ll have to settle for the short little clips on their website.
